Venkatesh Prasad, a former fast bowler, thinks Team India needs to make “major changes” to the way they play limited-overs cricket.
The Men in Blue now trail the ODI series 0-2 with one game left on December 10 in Chattogram after being trounced by Bangladesh by five runs on Wednesday, December 7.

At the Sher-e-Bangla in Dhaka, India lost the second One-Day International to Bangladesh in a heartbreaking fashion, falling short by five runs. After winning the third and final ODI match, Bangladesh now leads the series 2-0. Mehidy Hasan was in excellent form in the second ODI, reaching an unbeaten hundred and taking two wickets.
India needed to score 266 for nine in 50 overs in order to meet their target of 272 runs, and captain Rohit Sharma accomplished this accomplishment while still having his left thumb tightly wrapped. Shreyas Iyer scored 82 runs off 102 balls, and Axar Patel scored 56 runs off 56 deliveries. Ebadot Hossain, the host’s effective bowler, took three wickets.

“Our approach is a decade old”: Venkatesh Prasad
According to Venkatesh Prasad, India should take a cue from England, who transformed their cricketing culture after leaving the 2015 World Cup in Australia and New Zealand early.

“And change approach drastically. We haven’t won a T20 WC since the IPL started & last 5 years have been poor in ODI’s apart from winning inconsequential bilateral. Haven’t learned from our mistakes for too long and are far from being an exciting team in limited-overs cricket. CHANGE,” Venkatesh Prasad added.
India will try to avoid a rout when they take the field at Chattogram’s Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, having already lost the series.
