ICC T20 World Cup 2022 Schedule, Teams, India Squad, Qualification, Groups, Host Country, India Team, Qualifier. The ICC T20 World Cup 2022 is all set to take place from October 16 in Australia and the final of the tournament will be played on November 13. Before the Super12 stage of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022, there will be a qualifier round, which will send four sides to the Super12 stage of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022.
Sri Lanka will be going head to head against Namibia in the first game of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022. The Supe12 stage of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 will commence on October 22 with New Zealand and Australia, the runner-ups and the defending champions, playing against each other.
ICC T20 World Cup 2022 will have 33 matches total, excluding the qualifier games. The teams are divided into two groups- Group 1 and Group 2. Each group will have 6 teams. The top two teams from both groups will qualify for the semi-finals. The winners of the semi-finals will lock horns in the final. The final of the tournament will take place on November 13, 2022.

No team has so far named their final squad for the ICC T20 World Cup 2022. The BCCI and the Indian team management are also busy preparing the final squad for the T20 World Cup 2022. The Indian contingent will be under immense pressure to get their hands on the T20 World Cup title this year as they have not been able to win an ICC trophy for the last 9 years.
Team India will be playing a lot of T20I matches before the commencement of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022. After the five-match series against West Indies, the Indian cricket team will be facing Zimbabwe in a three-match T20I series and will then play the Asia Cup 2022 which will also take place in the T20 format this year.

The top 8 ranked teams as per the ICC T20I team rankings have already qualified for the Super12 stage of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022. The remaining 4 teams for the Super12 stage will be decided through a qualifier round which will commence on October 16. A total of 8 teams have made it to the qualifier round and the top 4 teams will progress to the Super12 stage.

ICC T20 World Cup 2022 Host Country
The ICC T20 World Cup 2022 will be hosted by Australia, the defending champions of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022. The ICC T20 World Cup 2020 was supposed to be held by Cricket Australia (CA) in Australia. However, due to strict COVID regulations, Cricket Australia transferred the hosting rights to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). In return, BCCI granted Cricket Australia the rights for the ICC T20 World Cup 2021.
However, BCCI also couldn’t hold the tournament in 2020 and the tournament was postponed till 2021. The 2021 edition was hosted by the BCCI in the United Arab Emirates where Australia emerged champions. The original 2021 edition had to be postponed till 2022 and now, the tournament is all set to take place in Australia from October 16 2022 to November 13 2022.
