The hosts, who were thoroughly defeated by Ben Stokes’ rapacious English team in a three-match Test series, will welcome the Kiwis after the latter skipped their white-ball tour last year due to security concerns. Earlier, in a 7-match T20I series played in September and October 2022, England defeated Pakistan 4-3.

The second part of the tour, which runs from April 13 to May 7, will feature a five-match ODI series and a five-match T20I series between Pakistan and New Zealand. One Test, three ODIs, and four T20Is will all take place in Karachi. Three ODIs will be played in Rawalpindi, three T20Is and two ODIs in Lahore, and one Test will be played in Multan.

Later this week, the defending ICC Men’s World Test Championship champions New Zealand will visit Pakistan for the first bilateral Test series in more than 20 years. Following a three-match ODI series, the Black Caps will play the hosts in a two-match Test series. They will all be played in Karachi.

The two Test matches at Karachi and Multan will start at 10:30 AM IST and 3 PM IST, respectively. The matches will be shown live on TV on the Sony Ten 2 channel, and they will also be streamed live on the SonyLiv app and website.

For the forthcoming two-match Test series against New Zealand at home, Pakistan has selected uncapped middle-order hitter Kamran Ghulam and recalled quick bowler Hasan Ali. As he recovers from a knee injury sustained in the 2022 T20 World Cup final, pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi continues to be sidelined.

Naseem Shah, another pacer, has joined the team again after being given the all-clear after missing the last two Tests against England due to a shoulder ailment.

However, bowler Haris Rauf, who similarly had an injury during his first Test against England and missed the following two games, has been left out because he is still rehabilitating. Azhar Ali is replaced on the team by Kamran Ghulam following the senior batter’s retirement.

Mohammad Ali, a pacer, and Faheem Ashraf, a bowling all-arounder, who were both members of the squad for the England Tests, will not play in the forthcoming series against New Zealand.

The men’s team for New Zealand Cricket (NZCforthcoming )’s two-Test tour of Pakistan has been announced. The current ICC World Test Championship will include both of these games (WTC). Tim Southee will succeed Kane Williamson as New Zealand’s Test captain, and Tom Latham will serve as his red-ball partner, according to the Black Caps.

Tim Southee will captain a new-look team without fellow pacer Trent Boult (out of commission) and Kyle Jamieson (back injury), as well as leg-spinner Ish Sodhi, middle-order hitter Glenn Phillips, and pacer Blair Tickner, who has never played for his country.

After the Pakistan tour, head coach Gary Stead, bowling coach Shane Jurgensen, newly appointed Test captain Tim Southee, and Kane Williamson will come home to get ready for the domestic Test series against England in February 2023.

For the ODI tours of Pakistan and India, the legspinner Ish Sodhi and the batsman Henry Nicholls, who had been left off the team for the home ODI series against India, have both been brought back.
