During their verbal sparring during Wednesday’s (2023 Legends League Cricket) Eliminator in Surat, Sreesanth said that Gautam Gambhir had called him “fixer” on several occasions. Following his alleged role in the 2013 IPL spot-fixing scandal, Sreesanth was banned for life but was cleared two years later. After his ban was shortened to seven years, he resumed his involvement with the LLC, where he is currently the Gujarat Giants’ representative.
After Gautam Gambhir hit Sreesanth for a six and a four in the Eliminator match against the India Capitals, he is said to have looked at Gambhir as he walked back to his bowling spot. The two got into a heated argument that involved the umpires following the powerplay.
Sreesanth Accuses Gautam Gambhir
Sreesanth has now asserted that Gautam Gambhir continued referring to him as a “fixer” in an Instagram post. He further claimed that Gautam Gambhir had abused him.

“I have not used a single bad word or used a single abusive word to him. I only kept saying, “What are you saying? What are you saying?” In fact, I kept laughing in a sarcastic way because he kept calling me “Fixer, fixer, F*** off fixer”. This is the language that was used.”
Sreesanth posted another video, describing the exchange, on his social media account earlier on Wednesday. It said, “Just wanted to clear the air with what happened with Mr fighter.” one who is constantly at odds with all of his coworkers. with no apparent purpose at all. Even Viru bhai, one of his more experienced players, is not respected by him. That’s precisely what took place today. He just started calling me names without any reason, which was quite impolite and something Mr. Gautam Gambhir shouldn’t have said.
“I am not at all at fault here. I just wanted to clear the air straightaway. What Mr Gauti has done, sooner or later all of you will get to know. The words which he used and the things he said on a cricket field, live, is not acceptable. My family, my state, everybody has gone through so much. I fought that battle with all your support. Now people want to down me for no reason. He said things he shouldn’t have said. I will surely let you know what he said.”
