The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has once again proved that it is an undisputed powerhouse of world cricket as data suggests that the Indian cricket board still generates more revenue than any of its counterparts.
As per the data posted by Times Now, BCCI’s revenue generation is 23% more than Cricket Australia (CA), which settles for the second position in the category.
BCCI comprehensively ahead of other cricket boards in terms of revenue generation
As per reports, the Board of Control for Cricket in India churns out revenue of a staggering INR 3,730 crore (data as of 2021) while the second-placed Cricket Australia generates an estimated revenue of INR 2,843 Crore.
The third position is occupied by the England & Wales Cricket Board (ECB) with a revenue generation worth INR 2,135 crore in the said cycle. Further, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is at the fourth spot with an estimated revenue generation of INR 811 Crore.
At number five is the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) with a revenue generation of INR 802 crore, while the sixth and seventh positions are occupied by the Cricket South Africa (CSA) and the New Zealand Cricket Board (NZC) with INR 485 crore and INR 210 crore.
The West Indies Cricket Board (INR 116 Crore), Zimbabwe Cricket Board (INR 113 Crore), and, Sri Lanka Cricket (INR 100 Crore) take the last three positions on this list.
Notable, the high-profile Indian Premier League’s (IPL) success over the years has helped the BCCI in becoming the undisputed cricket board in the world. In fact, the toughest T20 league in the world has surpassed its competitors like the Big Bash League (BBL), The Hundred, etc. by miles in terms of revenue generation and a commercially viable product.
