Instead of getting Washington Sundar back in the lineup, India can consider Mukesh Kumar as an alternative. An additional spinner might be necessary due to Rajkot’s flat but dusty surface. Sundar might be a potential alternative to Arshdeep given India’s lack of depth in the bottom order.

Arshdeep India was at a disadvantage after a no-ball. In the entire game, the young bowler set a record with five no-balls, including a hat-trick. Even though he had Rahul Dravid’s support, captain Hardik Pandya wasn’t content. He didn’t hold back, calling it a “crime” because it has been a problem for him throughout his international career.

“You can have a good day, you can have a bad day, but you shouldn’t be moving away from the basics. For Arshdeep, in this situation, it is very difficult. In past as well he’s bowled no-balls. It is not about blaming him or being too hard on him, but we know no-balls in any format is a crime,” Hardik Pandya said at the post-match presentation.

Arshdeep made matters worse by surrendering 37 runs in just two overs. Hardik had to remove him from bowling after he scored 19 runs in the first over, making him wait to bowl until the 19th. Hardik would be tempted to employ both Mukesh Kumar and Kuldeep Yadav in Rajkot because neither player has yet appeared in the series.
