PBKS’ stand-in Captain Sam Curran showed great sportsmanship during the ongoing MI vs PBKS match in IPL 2024. This video of his is now going viral on social media. One of Sam Curran’s deliveries hit the veteran batter Rohit Sharma on his helmet. Immediately after, Sam Curran rushed towards the batter to know if he’s fine.

The incident happened in the 12th over of MI’s innings, after Rohit and Suryakumar Yadav had already established a brilliant partnership to restore MI’s innings following the early removal of Ishan Kishan.

In an attempt to break Rohit and Surya’s partnership, Curran returned to the attack.

He started the over on a positive note, conceding only three runs off his first two deliveries before his lethal delivery took Rohit by surprise.

Curran nearly gave Rohit a yorker when he attempted a risky paddle sweep stroke. He missed the shot, though, and the ball struck his helmet. The strike appeared severe because Rohit was instantly stunned.

As all of this was going on, Curran went straight over to check on the veteran batter and received a standing ovation for his kind gesture.

Surprisingly, Harpreet Brar made a fantastic catch within the circle to eliminate Rohit with his very next delivery.

The visitors scored 192 for 7 in 20 overs. Punjab’s score was 14-4  at the time of writing. MI is looking to win the game clearly as the match is sweeping away from Punjab.
