“It was a really good wicket to bat”: Shakib Al Hasan
Zakir Hasan’s effort in the second innings is praised by Shakib Al Hasan, who thinks it was a brilliant wicket to bat on over the course of the five days.
“It was a really good wicket to bat on but we didn’t bat well (in the first innings). Playing after 5-6 months, wasn’t ideal but there should be no excuses. A lot of credit to India for the way they bowled. They bowled in partnerships and created pressure,” Shakib Al Hasan said.
“Zakir Hasan has been scoring a lot of runs in domestic runs, that’s why we picked him. Hopefully, he scores a lot more centuries for Bangladesh. We have to play good cricket for all five days. We have to play four good innings to be able to get a result, especially against India,” Shakib Al Hasan during the Post-match presentation.
India climbs to the third spot in the WTC point standings with their victory. South Africa would move up to second if they lose the current Gabba Test. In this cycle, India still has five Test matches left, including four at home against Australia. The next Test is being played there, where India lost both of the ODIs.
