India vs Bangladesh Live: KL Rahul To Be Ruled Out Of 2nd Test. Wasim Jaffer, a former opening batsman for the Indian National Cricket Team, believes that KL Rahul is the only player who could be dropped from the starting XI when regular skipper Rohit Sharma rejoins the team for the second and final Test match against Bangladesh.

Due to a thumb injury, he got while fielding in the slips during the second ODI of the three-match series against Bangladesh, Rohit Sharma was unable to play in the opening Test. According to reports, Rohit will play for India in the second Test, and doubts regarding who he would replace have already sparked a discussion among fans.

The designated vice-captain Rahul led India and opened the innings alongside Shubman Gill in Rohit’s absence. While Gill produced a fantastic century in India’s second innings, the acting India skipper only managed to score 22 and 23 runs over the course of two innings.

Wasim Jaffer was asked whether Rahul should be replaced by Rohit based on his batting form during a conversation on ESPNCricinfo. He answered:

“On form, I think yeah, it does look like KL is the only one. But I feel that if India is going with 5 bowlers then I feel the unfortunate guy would be KL or they could go with 4 bowlers. They might just squeeze KL in. It’s going to be interesting to see who gets dropped in the last Test.”

Wasim Jaffer stated that Rahul handled the captaincy responsibility in the first Test against Bangladesh extremely well and that he got the majority of things right during the same conversation. The 44-year-old, though, expressed his dissatisfaction with Rahul’s batting display and suggested that he elevate his game. Added Wasim Jaffer:

“As a captain, he’ll be very happy. He didn’t have a lot of success as a captain. Even though it was Bangladesh, he got most things right, but I feel that as a batsman, he needs to do a lot of things right. The way he’s batting, I feel, he needs to step up his game a little bit. Lately, he’s not the old KL Rahul we’ve seen. He needs to turn up as a batsman pretty soon.”

At the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram, the India National Cricket Team defeated the Bangladesh National Cricket Team by 188 runs to win the first Test and establish a 1-0 series lead. The second Test is scheduled to take place at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur from December 22 to December 26.
