Dinesh Karthik on Rishabh Pant Great Win for India

The Indian Cricket Team easily trounced Bangladesh in the first Test Match. The Men in Blue have taken a 1-0 lead in the Test Series by defeating their adversary by a margin of 188 runs. Rishabh Pant was rather impressive in the back of the wickets, as he was a part of one stumping and a great catch.

The Bangladeshi Tigers can be proud of their performance because they made Indian bowlers work hard for each wicket. There were some signs of hope since Shakib was smashing the bowlers all around the park. In 108 balls, the left-handed batter scored 84 runs while hitting six fours and six sixes.

When Dinesh Karthik interacted with Cricbuzz, Rishabh Pant-related questions were put to him.

“First of all, I think he idolizes MS Dhoni, who would have been very proud of the way he did that stumping. The beauty of it is when the ball is pitched closer, it can be hard for you to react faster because you get the feeling that the batter is going to play a shot,” said Dinesh Karthik.

“But where Pant stood out was that he was ready for the ball to miss the bat and he was already bringing his hands towards the stumps and that’s why it was done at such a quick speed. Generally, as a wicketkeeper, your reaction is to receive the ball,” he added.

The Men in Blue would be extremely happy with how they performed. On a pitch with varied bounce and calm conditions, the bowlers displayed excellent composure. The best bowler overall was Axar Patel, who took 4 wickets and conceded 77 runs in 32.2 overs. Axar Patel is known for bowling wicket to wicket and not giving the bowlers enough opportunity to maneuver.

Bangladesh hoped that players like Litton and Rahim would have batted a little bit too long. Even though a victory seemed unlikely, Bangladesh demonstrated that they are more than simply a team that competes.
