Indian spinner and Rajasthan Royals’ star bowler Yuzvendra Chahal shared a special and emotional post on Instagram about RCB’s star batter Virat Kohli. The two of them share a special bond since they played for the Indian Cricket Team and RCB in the Indian Premiere League. RCB decided to not retain Chahal ahead of the 2021 season and therefore, he went on to join Rajasthan Royals. Chahal took to social media to post a picture of himself along with Virat Kohli and captioned it – “You will always be my Virat bhaiya”.

The post has come up amidst the recent controversy regarding Virat Kohli’s strike rate even after he scored a century against RR in IPL 2024 . However, Kohli stated that the Jaipur pitch was two-paced which made the hitting game quite hard. On the other hand, former cricketer Ajay Jadeja felt that the manner in which the star batter batted, there seemed to be very little demons present in the pitch.
Despite Kohli’s undefeated 113 off 72 balls, which included 12 fours and 4 sixes, RCB only managed to score 183/3 in 20 overs; Jos Buttler’s 58-ball ton helped the Rajasthan Royals surpass that mark with five balls remaining.
Astute cricket observer Jadeja sensed a possible contradiction between Kohli’s observations and the pitch’s overall performance during the entire game.

“He (Kohli) started out so well. He hit a couple of boundaries in the first few overs, and you knew you were watching something special tonight. The only surprising thing was him speaking about how the deliveries were not carrying through on this pitch, but the way he batted, we didn’t see any shortcomings in the pitch,” Jadeja exclaimed.
The pitch wasn’t flat, as Kohli had stated after reaching his ninth IPL century. The wicket appears very different from the exterior. When the ball is staying in the pitch, even though it feels flat, that’s when you realize the pace changes, Kohli said to the official broadcaster on Saturday night.
Kohli’s ability to make shots is what persuaded Jadeja that the surface was flawless.
“When it came to making shots, there wasn’t a single spot on the ground where he didn’t smash the ball. Although his comments led us to believe that there would be a problem with the pitch, he performed well and showed no signs of weakness.” Shane Watson, another specialist on Jio Cinema, believes that Sanju Samson’s breakthrough season may eventually arrive in the 17th IPL season.

“From the first ball, he demonstrated his intent in his own cool, composed manner. You’re not only looking to get ones if you have a 130 strike rate in the first ten balls. You’re waiting for a loose ball, and he did tuck it away right away. He’s playing the ball on its merits, thanks to his skill, Watson added. “Due to Sanju Samson’s abundance of shot possibilities, he may score easily when a bowler delivers a slightly loose ball. He has a sense of composure that is evident in every game, so there’s no reason why he can’t have a very good tournament.
“I’m actually predicting he’ll have a long and successful IPL with the bat this year,” the former CSK and Royals star said.
