One of the few cricket players who can conflate the loyalties of two teams and their supporters is Rohit Sharma. Whenever he bats in the Indian Premier League, he almost always receives support. A Rohit Sharma special is always much anticipated, whether it takes place at Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur or the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
It was not completely realized on Monday during the RR vs. MI IPL 2024 encounter, as the Indian skipper was dismissed to his arch-rival Trent Boult after scoring just six off five balls, but the Jaipur crowd was not about to give up on a chance to get near to Rohit that quickly.

When the Mumbai Indians’ team bus got caught in traffic on the eve of the game, it was clear that the city of Jaipur was in love with and adored the squad.
Jaipur crowd teases Hardik Pandya in front of Rohit Sharma
A young man from the area had to step in and help clear the path for the MI team bus. A few hours before the game, MI posted an identical video on their official account.
The man, known as “Sunny” due to the name on his shirt, was observed being cheered on by the MI cricket players.
Even after the game, when hosts RR thoroughly defeated MI, the situation remained almost unchanged. Following the match, spectators could be seen yelling for Rohit and MI.
On the eve of the match, though, there was another fascinating event. Fans swarmed around the MI squad bus that was stalled in traffic, chanting Rohit Sharma’s name.
This year, MI will not be led by Rohit, the first captain to win five IPL crowns. Before the current season began, Hardik Pandya took his place, a decision that is still being questioned.

Mumbai Indians in a spot of bother in IPL 2024
Rewinding to Monday’s match, Rajasthan Royals secured their first-place standing in the IPL standings with a nine-wicket thumping of MI thanks to an unbeaten 104 from Yashasvi Jaiswal.
At Rajasthan’s home stadium in Jaipur, Yuzvendra Chahal claimed an IPL record of 200 wickets, and Sandeep Sharma took 5-18 to help limit Mumbai to 179-9.
The rain stopped the session after Jaiswal, a left-handed opener with a season-high score of 39, guided the side home in 18.4 overs.
