As Punjab suffered their sixth loss of the year, Virender Sehwag attacked PBKS stand-in captain Sam Curran, declaring that he would not have him in the team as an all-rounder who bats or bowls.
Sam Curran gave up 18 runs while conceding 20 from 19 deliveries and taking one wicket in his two overs. The match would end with GT prevailing, and PBKS’s Mullanpur woes would continue.
Sehwag expressed his disapproval of Sam Curran’s bat and ball performances to Cricbuzz, stating that a player who bats and bowls isn’t contributing to the team.

The former cricket player for India stated that he must assist the team either with the bat or the ball since he believes the England all-rounder has had difficulty doing so this entire season. In the past two games, Curran has opened the batting for PBKS, but he hasn’t had much of an effect up top.

“I wouldn’t keep Sam Curran as a batting all-rounder or a bowling all-rounder. Because such a player is of no use, who does some batting and some bowling. Either you win the game with your batting or win the game with your bowling. Either you hit the bullseye or you don’t perform at all,” said Sehwag.
