At the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), Shaheen Shah Afridi and Marnus Labuschagne engaged in a furious altercation on the first day of the Boxing Day Test between Australia and Pakistan.

Shaheen tried to get under Marnus Labuschagne’s skin with some abrasive remarks, but he was patient throughout his knock. Shaheen bowled a delivery from around the wicket on the opening ball of the 41st over in the second session, and Labuschagne returned a defensive stroke to the bowler.

Shaheen then sent him a cold look, intensifying the argument. Shaheen attempted to fluff up the batter with a hint of anger. Even yet, Labuschagne was not pleased that the action went on despite the lights going out. Eventually, it started to rain, and Australia finished with a score of 114 for two in 42.4 overs.

Marnus Labuschagne and Shaheen Shah Afridi involved in heated exchange

Regarding Marnus Labuschagne and Shaheen, they have engaged in several difficult conflicts in the past few years. Shaheen is one of the three bowlers who have five wickets against Labuschagne in Test cricket. The other two are Ravindra Jadeja of India and Mark Wood of England.

Shaheen has defeated Labuschagne in county cricket as well, despite the latter player getting close to reaching the 4000 run mark in Test cricket.

With just two wickets in the Perth Test, Shaheen did not have the best of performances. On the opening day of the second Test, he was in position to take David Warner’s wicket. But in the third over, Abdullah Shafique failed to make a straightforward catch at first slip.
