India vs Bangladesh Live: India Loses Pacer Right Before 2nd Test. As he recovers from a thumb injury sustained in the second ODI against Bangladesh in Dhaka, India’s captain Rohit Sharma will miss the Second Test against Bangladesh, which starts on Thursday.
Sharma’s absence will also help Team India’s opening conundrum, as Shubman Gill will get another opportunity to do so after his first Test century against Bangladesh.

On Tuesday, December 20, the Indian Cricket Board (BCCI) confirmed that Rohit Sharma would not participate in the second Test of the two-match series in Bangladesh. Rohit won’t be able to skipper India in the series finale, which gets underway in Mirpur on December 22.
Rohit Sharma missed the first ODI and opening Test of a three-match series in December because of a thumb injury. He was therefore ineligible to take the first Test. According to the board, Rohit is being treated by the BCCI medical staff because his injury has not yet completely healed.

Rohit Sharma will need more time for the injury to play for team India: BCCI
Before Rohit can resume batting, the injury will need more time to heal entirely.
“Rohit Sharma is being treated by the BCCI Medical Team following a left thumb injury received during the second One-Day International against Bangladesh in Dhaka,” the BCCI announced.
“The Medical Team is of the opinion that the injury needs some more time to heal completely before the Indian captain can bat and field with full intensity. He will continue his rehab and will not be available for the second and final Test against Bangladesh,” he added.
The second Test will also be missed by pacer Navdeep Saini because of a strained abdominal muscle. The fast bowler will now report to the NCA for additional injury monitoring, per the BCCI release.
