The Mumbai Indians (MI) would need to spend their money carefully and make some shrewd purchases at the auction, according to former Indian cricketer Akash Chopra, in order to assemble a well-balanced starting XI.
Mumbai Indians, five-time IPL champions, struggled during the 15th IPL season and placed last in the standings. Prior to the mini-auction, MI has retained only 16 players after a terrible season in which they released 13, and veteran Kieron Pollard declared his retirement from the league. Aakash Chopra claimed that MI dropped many of the players who were a part of their starting XI the previous season in a video on his YouTube channel. He thinks that in order to have a strong squad and Playing XI, they need all-rounders and spinners.
