Rahul Dravid, head coach of the India National Cricket Team, thinks that teams are focusing on generating results-oriented matches and playing an aggressive brand of cricket in Tests.

A two-match Test series between the India National Cricket Team and the Bangladesh National Cricket Team is presently underway. The first Test is now taking place at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram, and the second Test will be held at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur from December 22 to 26.

“Teams have already been more aggressive. I think over the last bit we have seen a lot more results. Teams are playing for results a lot more now and especially with the World Test Championship points on stake,” Rahul Dravid said.

Notably, since Ben Stokes and Brendon McCullum assumed the roles of captain and head coach, the England National Cricket Team has played and promoted the fearless brand of cricket in Test matches.

They are playing an aggressive and entertaining form of Test cricket thanks to their new “Bazball” strategy. Ben Stokes and company have won Test matches against New Zealand, India, South Africa, and Pakistan thanks to their aggressive strategy.

Rahul Dravid went on to say that teams that can adjust to various conditions will have great success. He added that adaptation will continue to be the most important factor in Test cricket.

He elaborated: “I still think adaptability is going to be very important in Test cricket that ability to play aggressively when you need to play aggressively or you can play aggressively with the kind of squad you have or the position you find yourself in the game. And then the opportunity to be able to play at a difficult period or a difficult day of test cricket either with the bat or the ball and knuckle down and play some tough and hard cricket as well.

“So I think that the teams that have that adaptability and the teams that have that ability to be able to switch, so to speak, even in between a Test match are the ones that are going to be very successful.”
